About Us

Rock Hard Designs, Inc. was started in 1997 by Ron Opatril and Joseph Schott to provide quality stone products in Arizona and the surrounding Western States. We started manufacturing stone, ceramic and porcelain products such as decorative borders for Bathtub and shower surrounds and kitchen backsplashes.

We also produced tumbled and polished stone decos, medallions for floors and walls and a variety of mosaics for the same use. These products were sold through contractors and retail stores in the Phoenix Metro area. At the present time our products are distributed through major distributors throughout the Western United States. Our products can be seen in show rooms in Texas, Missouri, Kansas, and Nebraska and in all of the states west of them.

In 2001 Rock Hard Designs purchased our first water jet from Flow International and we have added 3 machines to our manufacturing facility over the past 6 years. Rock Hard Designs, Inc. now has four Flow water jet cutting machines, automated bridge saws and polishing equipment as well as several manually operated saws. In addition we have several Italian automated cutting machines to make a variety of products. We produce domed liner bars, several tumbled profiles and have just purchased a new machine that will allow us to supply custom polished profiles to be used in a variety of uses in custom homes and commercial projects.

We have a laser etching system, sandblasting machines and sublimation heat presses.

This equipment allows us to keep up with the high demands of the stone industry. Rock Hard Designs specializes in custom manufacturing Water Jet Cutting, Laser Etching, Dye Sublimation Transfers, Sandblasting and Fabrication of many different types of products to customer specification. We also have a fabrication department that is capable of any type of stone fabrication and we have a master carver on staff.
