Summary of ISO 9001:2000 in informal language
Our quality (QMS) manual is a formal statement from management, closely linked to our business and marketing plan and to customer needs. The quality (QMS) manual is understood and followed at all levels and by all employees.
Decisions about the quality management system are made based on recorded data and the system is regularly audited and evaluated for conformance and effectiveness (conformance, effectiveness, and continuous improvement). In addition to our internal audit program, Rock Hard Designs is regulated by an independent external body that audits our system and verifies that if conforms to the requirements specified in the standard.
We have a documented procedure to control quality documents in our company (The scope of the Quality Management System (QMS) documentation is defined in procedures for the effective planning, operation, and control of processes). Everyone has access to up-to-date documents and is aware of how to use them (All personnel have access to up-to-date documentation and made aware of how to use our documentation).
To maintain the quality management system and produce conforming product, we provide a suitable infrastructure, resources, information, equipment, measuring and monitoring devices, and environmental conditions.
We map out all key processes in our company; control them by monitoring, measurement and analysis; and ensure that product quality objectives are met. In areas we can't monitor a process by measurement; we then make sure the process is well enough defined that we can make adjustments if the product does not meet user needs.
For each product Rock Hard Designs, Inc. fabricates, we establish quality objectives; plan processes; and document and measure results to use as a tool for improvement. For each process, we determine what kind of procedural documentation is required.
We determine key points where each process requires monitoring and measurement, and ensure that all monitoring and measuring devices are properly maintained and calibrated.
We determine customer requirements and create systems for communicating with customers about product information, inquiries, contracts, orders, feedback and complaints.
When developing new products, we plan the stages of development, with appropriate testing at each stage. We test and document whether the product meets design requirements, regulatory requirements and user needs.
We review performance through internal audits and meetings. In our meetings we determine whether the quality management system is working and what improvements can be made. We also deal with past problems and potential problems. Our company keeps records of these activities and the resulting decisions, and monitor their effectiveness.
We have documented procedures for dealing (handling) with actual and potential nonconformances (problems involving suppliers or customers, or internal problems). Rock Hard Designs makes sure no one uses bad product, determines what to do with bad product, deals with the root cause of the problem and keeps records to use as a tool to improve the system.
